Sivananda Yoga is a traditional, meditative style of Hatha yoga focusing on preserving health through a holistic approach. It was founded by Swami Sivananda from Rishikesh (India) and his disciple Swami Vishnu who traveled to the West to spread the yogic knowledge.
The Sivananda practice is structured around 12 basic asanas (postures) and integrates deep breathing, relaxation, and deep meditation. It is aimed at improving physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
This class is for everyone who seeks not only the physical benefits of yoga but also a deep mental, spiritual and nervous system reset. By releasing physical and metal tension, the 12 postures of the Sivananda practice liberate vast resources of energy giving one vigor and vitality.
With regular practice, the postures become an exercise in concentration and meditation, and lead to a calmer mind and a significant release of stress.
